Title Rolling block Mexican Remington bayonet, 1899 model
Nationality American
Period c 1899
Sold

This was a contract piece for the Mexican government and also is the same bayonet used by the US Navy on the Lee bolt action. The Mexican rifle was a 7mm rolling block action single shot weapon.

The blade length is 21cm. It has fruitwood grips with a little age bruising and cracking, especially to the front plate. The stitching on the leather belt loop is still intact. There is very little trace of any finish on the scabbard, which also has some scarring from old age rust spots scattered throughout.

I would describe this as a class two condition piece. However, its relative rarity makes up for the condition.

I recieved the medal today and I am very pleased with the quality. It is in excellent condition, both the medal and the ribbon, for an original.
