This rare knot is, in all probability, a pre-war piece, as war time photos show very little evidence of this being worn. However, in the pre-war period, this frequently crops up, especially in photographs of the Leibstandarte. There is no moth, but a little wear to the edges and some age staining to the colour, especially on the body of the knot.
Not such a spectacular piece as the officer's sword knot, but actually a much harder piece to find.
