An uncommon bayonet with a plain blade and a reasonable rarity with the sawback feature. The scabbard has been painted black at some point in the recent past and the iron retaining screw on the side of the scabbard has been replaced with a brass one. However, the blade is in magnificent shape and is marked 'SAMSON WERK'. The grips are excellent walnut and have not been damaged. The price label on the scabbard states ?175, whereas the actual price is in fact ?200. |
