This has a 30 cm single-edged blade for the Finnish army's Russian-designed bolt action rifle. Unlike the Russians, who used a socket bayonet for their rifle, the Finns chose a sword bayonet. It would appear that both rifle and bayonet were made in Finland. This may well have been used in the famous Winter War against USSR. The scabbard has a blackened finish with some old rust speckling to the front. The blade has a brown finish, with the maker Hackman & Co punched at the forte. It has what looks like looks like a factory/arsenal sharpening. The grips appear to be stained beechwood. |
