This bayonet has a somewhat worn blade, the leading edge of which has been sharpened. However, the inscription is unusual in its position within the fuller of the blade and what may be a political eagle superimposed on a steel helmet at the forte. This may be for one of the paramilitary formations of the Third Reich, such as the Feldherrnhalle. It has nice staghorn grips, a slightly scruffy but original parade frog and a scabbard which is missing some 50% of its paintwork. The nickel hilt is in relatively good shape. |
