Maker marked 'Schwerin Berlin 68'. This is an early war bronze example by the best maker in the field. It was a hard-earned badge as it was only given after several combat cruises.
A nice example with some 50% of its original gilt finish. There is some old nicotine (?) staining to the face of the badge, which should easily clean with ammonia, but, as I get older, I sometimes feel things are best left as they are!
