Made by Horster of Solingen, this is a classic export number of the period. Interestingly, the maker's details appear both in German and Arabic script at the forte of the blade, along with a religious exhortation in a small panel in the middle (rather faint). The scabbard is iron, as is the hilt, and both have much of their original finish.
The blade is 25.5 inches (64.75 cms) and the overall length is 31 inches (78.75 cms).
