Title Sword chatelaine
Nationality British
Period c 1770
Sold

This is a device for the suspension of a spadroon or smallsword from the owner's hip. They were worn in Britain, Europe and America from approximately 1770-1820. This particular example is fairly plain with some irregularities in the hanging chain work, suggesting contemporary modification. They are quite rare.

I recieved the medal today and I am very pleased with the quality. It is in excellent condition, both the medal and the ribbon, for an original.
