This is the SA sports/fitness qualification badge and is an early numbered example in iron, which would originally have had a bronze finish and is maker marked 'E.SCHNEIDER // LUDENSCHEID'. Classically, this badge is often seen on SS men in their black pre-war uniforms, together with perhaps a Coburg rally badge.
It has lost all its bronze finish, but is now a pleasant grey patinated colour. There are substantial traces of the bronze finish to the reverse of the badge. It is numbered 550413.
