Title Royal Naval officer's sword
Nationality British
Period c 1914
Sold

This fine example is made by Robert Mole of Birmingham, marked 'Made in Birmingham' at the forte, with Mole's gold proof mark on the reverse, and the serial number 'M9426' on the back of the blade. The hilt has 98%+ original gilt finish, rarely seen on a naval sword these days.

The scabbard mounts have 60%+ original gilt finish, while the black leather scabbard body is magnificent. The blade has the bulk of its factory finish.
