Title Prussian cavalry officer's sword, model 1889
Nationality German
Period c 1914
Sold

The blade is engraved with 'Mit Gott fur Kaiser und Reich', an oval portrait of Kaiser Bill and martial trophies. Interestingly enough, the engraving includes an Imperial eagle and crown, indicating perhaps colonial Schutztruppe.

A scruffy example with the scabbard possibly patched with plastic padding in parts and now covered in extensive matt black paint. The blade shows minor patination from wear, but all the engraving is still clear. The hilt is in solid white metal with some internal bruising at the base of the guard.

The day the blunderbuss arrives I could not stop looking and feeling the gun for at least one hour. My wife told me that I was sick........ I am very happy, it is a piece of craftsmanship! Well made! I have 5 blunderbusses but all iron barrel, also from England but this one is gorgeous with the Brass Barrel.

Please keep me informed when you have any other type of blunderbuss. Thanks my friend!
