This badge, the screw fitting of which is marked 'F.M.LORIOLI // ROMA.MILANO'. These were worn on the classic Alpini cap, along with the crossed rifles and bugle horn of the mountain regiments to distinguish one regiment from another.
It is a good quality badge (61mm high). The enamel shows its age somewhat with scratch marks, but generally the piece is in good shape. The silver plate finish to the front, however, has worn somewhat at the edges, leaving the tombak showing underneath.
