Designated for issue to soldiers not armed with the bayonet, this knife (marked on the guard 'USM3//CAMILLUS') was especially designed for such shock units as parachute troops and rangers. The production of the Mark 3 knife began in 1943 and ceased in August 1944. This good example has the bulk of its anodised finish on the blade and the last pattern scabbard with the metal reinforced at the tip. The pommel has some of its anodised finish, together with the ordnance grenade mark. The web belt loop is missing its brass hook. The leather grip is in excellent shape, with very little wear showing. |
