Title Local Defence Volunteers brassard
Nationality British
Period c 1940
Sold

This is a rather scruffy example of a brassard for the unit which preceded the Home Guard. By comparison to the Home Guard example, this is a comparatively scarce piece. It would have been worn on the left sleeve, like the Home Guard example on my site.

It is rather dirty and shows signs of rather more service use than the Home Guard brassard. The edges are a little frayed in places and there is a small tear to one edge.

Just to let you know that the bayonet arrived safely this morning by Royal Mail. I am delighted with it and it will be put to very good use at some forthcoming events.

...the sword arrived safely today... My son, who shares my interest in antique edged weapons and for whom I bought the sword, is delighted.
