These oval badges were worn by NCOs and denoted their particular professional skill, in this case sea and coastal charts. It would have been worn on the upper left arm.

It is machine embroidered yellow cotton on a navy blue wool broadcloth ground, with a cotton backing. It measures 9cm long and is in ex-stores condition.
