Title Kaiser Karl bronze gallantry medal
Nationality Austrian
Period c 1917-18
Price £25.00

This is the basic KuK award for bravery in the reign of Kaiser Karl, who succeeded Franz Joseph on his death in the winter of 1916. He reigned until November 1918, when he abdicated and went into exile. It is an official issue, as the designer's name Kautsch is in raised letters on the emperor's shoulder - tailors' copies do not have this feature.

The ribbon would have been red and white arranged in the form of a triangle. The medal (31mm diameter) is made of bronze and its condition is GVF.

Just a short note to let you know that I have collected the Police fur cap this morning from the Post Office. I am really happy with it, and for sure I will give a thumbs-up to your service. This was the first item I ever bought from you, and I hope it will not be the last.
