Title High Seas Fleet miniature pin
Nationality German
Period c 1939-45
Sold

This was introduced by Admiral Raeder, who was C-in-C, German Navy. To qualify for this award, 12 weeks' service on a battleship or cruiser was needed, which could be reduced if the recipient had been wounded during the cruise. This example is the large size of miniature pin.

The condition is reasonably good for its age, even with traces of the original gilding on the wreath and the eagle. It would appear to be made of tombak, with a heavy duty silver plate finish, or possibly even solid silver throughout, but, in any case, it is unmarked, as most of these pieces were made up by jewellers.

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)
