Title Army Cyclist Corps cap badge
Nationality British
Period c 1914-20
Sold

Formed in 1914 from 51 Yeomanry Cyclists Regiments and 23 Territorial Cyclists Battalions, the ACC reached an average strength of 22,500, being employed for Home Defence and, dismounted, as infantry in France and Flanders. They were disbanded in 1920. This is the 16-spoke voided wheel variety.

It is of die-struck gilding metal construction, with a brass slider brazed to the reverse.

There is a little wear and distortion to the badge. It has obviously been worn with pride and heavily polished over the years, witness the slightly weak definition on the title of the regiment. But there are no breaks and the badge is clearly a wartime one.
