Title 63rd (Royal Naval) Division badges
Nationality British
Period c 1914
Price £0.00
Sold

This is the complete set of the RND (formed in September 1914) badges, including an officer's bronze field service and an RND shoulder title. Four out of the six other ranks badges have the Gaunt's maker's plaques on the reverse. These men fought principally at Gallipoli and later on in France and Flanders.

The regiments of the Naval Division were named after great historical British naval officers, eg Hawke, Anson, Nelson, Drake, Collingwood and Benbow.

These badges are in excellent condition and there is some age patination to the reverse. They are original badges, not to be confused with the very clever fakes put out at the end of the 1960s, which have somewhat larger plaques to the reverse.

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)

I am more and more pleased with the sword, and am wondering whether to do an article on it...
