A gorget was worn round the neck by British officers on duty with their troops as an indication of officer rank and current duty. This particular gorget replaced earlier regimental ones with royal arms and regimental numbers. Its construction is copper with mercury gilt finish, nearly 100% intact. Two minor age cracks. |
