Title 13th Duke of Connaught's Own Lancers officer's cap badge
Nationality British Empire
Period c 1922-56
Price £90.00

This badge (4.5 cm high) would have been worn on an officer's peaked service cap. In 1923, the 31st DCO Lancers and the 32nd Lancers were amalgamated to form this unit (the 13th DOC Lancers). Both regiments had a common origin in the old Bombay Squadron of Cavalry, raised for service under Lord Lake.

The badge is essentially of gilding metal, gilt, with design highlights in silver (viz '13' and regimental title). Its condition is perfect (there are the remains of old metal polish and minor verdigris on the reverse). The letter 'S' is stamped on the reverse of the crown
