This was the medal for gallantry awards deemed not to merit the award of the Iron Cross, 2nd class. This is a mid-war example in bronzed zinc. Typically, these were often given for partisan actions in Poland, Russia and the Balkans. It has most of its bronze finish and a short, but clean piece of original ribbon.
