Title Roman Catholic Jubilee year pilgrimage badge
Nationality British
Period 1925
Sold

This little gilt and enamel gem was produced, no doubt, as a fund raiser for the Roman Catholic church in England in 1925 to commemorate a Jubilee year pilgrimage to Rome. The badge on the front is the crossed keys of St Peter surmounted by the papal triple tiara.

The maker's mark on the back is 'THOMAS FATTORINI // HOCKLEY ST. // BIRMINGHAM', a famous enamel badge and order maker still in business today.

Its condition is generally excellent, with a little wear to the gilding, and the central portion of the badge measures 3.5cm high.

Just a quick note to let you know that my bayonet arrived safely today. Many thanks for the speedy delivery and overall excellent service! For its age this bayonet is in fantastic condition.

I will mark your website as a 'favourite'...

Hanger arrived safe and sound 11.30ish today. Very pleased, it's as expected. Your excellent pics make all the difference in terms of confident buying over the net. As a matter of interest, the frog, which as you said is very a/f, is, as you thought, 'spot on'. On closer inspection it is a mk.1 Naval Frog, designated 'for cutlasses'. Date seems around 1860ish give or take.

By the way, I think your site is very user friendly. Seems to work much better than many and up to date, a rarity!!!
