This is the standard US Army Air Force throat microphone for WW2 and Korea, made, in this case, by the Universal Microphone Company of Inglewood, California, USA. They may also have been used for tank crews. The example illustrated (no longer available) is an opened, slightly damaged one - the press stud is a/f. I have a small quantity of these for sale, virtually all sealed in their boxes. I have opened one box and it all appears in perfect condition, the rubber in particular showing no signs of perishing. Within the outer box are: the throat microphone itself wrapped in tissue paper, a sealed enveloped marked 'Signal Corps, U.S. Army // 1 each, neckband M-199 // Made by // Universal Microphone Company // Inglewood, California', and the instruction sheet for Microphone T-30-S. Please email if you are interested. I can't guarantee that this equipment will work. It is pot luck as to the internal condition once each component is unwrapped. In particular, the rubber or elastic may have perished and the electronics may fail. I bought these 20 years ago from an American dealer and they have been in good, dry storage ever since. |
