Title Luckenbooth badge, Inverness hallmarks
Nationality Scottish
Period c 1880
Price £400.00

Maker marked PGW for Peter G Wilson (1866-1916) and INS for Inverness, this badge dates to approximately 1880, the construction detail of the hinge being the give-away here. Earlier in the century, Luckenbooth badges (sweetheart brooches) were normally one-third of the size of this (just over 7.5 cm from top to bottom).

Its condition is very good, with a little wear and distortion to the pin, as one would expect.

Something similar to this example was sold in 2004 in Bonhams Scotland for ?423.

Just to let you know the two propelling pencils, in the form of pistols, have just arrived in the condition you sent them. Thank you very much indeed for your excellent and prompt service, and I will keep a look out on your site for any other pencils you may have for sale in the future.
