Title Iron Cross, 2nd class, 1939
Nationality German
Period c 1939-45
Sold

This was the basic grade of Iron Cross of which some five million were awarded in WW2. The ribbon is period, with some slight age soiling. The medal is in good condition, but the silver border is a little tarnished in parts. It is marked '55' on the ring for J.E. Hammer & Sohne of Dresden.

Interestingly enough, this particular award is rarely found as a competently made fake. There were a few pieces made in France in the early 1970s from original dies with triple figure identical number maker punches, eg 666.

Bayonet arrived safe and well earlier, finally got a chance to unwrap it and have a quick peek and am very pleased, thanks!

Just to let you know that the bayonets arrived safely this morning and I am extremely happy! They are everything that I had hoped they would be, but better! I am extremely pleased that i purchased them from you. The 1867 Albini ... is an absolute beauty, the blade is immaculate. The other is in fact in far better condition that I had imagined as well. So all in all, I couldn't be happier! Many thanks Chris.

I very much look forward to doing business with you again in the near future.
