This superb regimental history has six colour plates, with many black and white illustrations, as well as photographs and prints of commanding officers. It was privately published in 1945 by J.A. Sauzey, the author, and limited to 495 copies, of which 29 examples were a special edition. This is example number 276. There are 316 pages. This measures 26 x 33.5 cm and is soft back. There is a short letter (dated 16 March, presumably 1945) from the author on the back of a publicity leaflet with order form, which thanks 'Jacques' for his help in giving addresses for potential customers and general help with the book (this is loose in the front of the book - I photographed it on the back cover). The outside cover is the plain tan card, while the colourful page with the full title is inside. '1945' is stamped in gold on a sheet of waxed paper over the colour frontispiece. Condition: the spine has a 9cm tear; minor soiling and damage to the cover; the pages appear to have been hand cut. |
