Title Arbeitsdienst administration officer's collar patch
Nationality German
Period c 1936-45
Sold

These were worn by personnel of the RAD (Reichsarbeitsdienst), which was the organisation that all young men had to serve in prior to entring the Wehrmacht. It gave them basic military skills and got them fit for service. The RAD were used for major construction projects in Germany before the war (eg buildling autobahns and bridges).

It is built around a stiff card base, with a buckram backing and an overlay of grey felted wool, together with dark green piping and aluminium braid. Its condition is excellent.

The bayonet arrived yesterday in good order. Fits my musket perfectly. Quite pleased, and many thanks for a very satisfactory transaction.

Just a short note to let you know that I have collected the Police fur cap this morning from the Post Office. I am really happy with it, and for sure I will give a thumbs-up to your service. This was the first item I ever bought from you, and I hope it will not be the last.
