Lt T D Hamer was commissioned on 3 March 1916. He may have been wounded, as he is listed in a July 1919 army list as serving at the Record Office as of 12.4.18 and in an August 1918 army list as serving with Inland Waterways and Docks as of the same date. He was retired by December 1922. The medal index card fom PRO shows: Thomas David Hamer, Sgt. 8th Bn. Royal Fusiliers, no. 567, disembarked Boulogne 30.5.15; later commissioned 3.3.16. There are some other details on the photocopy of the card relating to the medal's issue, etc. He was entitled to a 1915 Star and a Victory Medal, as well as the British War Medal. The medal is in GVF condition. A short piece of original ribbon accompanies it. |
