militaria item Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers busby bomb
- British
In 1881 the regimental numbering system was altered and two regiments (27th & 108th) were amalgamated into the Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers (a distinguished Northern Irish regiment). The busby bomb was introduced in 1865, but, as this badge is not numbered, it is post-1881.

militaria item Org. Todt WBC for technical personnel
- German
The finish on this fake is anodised zinc with a silver-grey wash. It has some half dozen points which would indicate that it is the product of a recently created die. NB: This fake does not appear in any of the reference books as yet!

militaria item SS other ranks buckle
- German
This reasonably sophisticated copy is a Hungarian fake from the early years of the 21st century. The prongs are more or less the correct shape, but there are other features which give the game away, so caveat emptor with this one!

militaria item Turkish spear head
- Turkish
This is one of a small collection of Turkish spear heads, purchased near Marmaris several years ago. This piece has been cleaned and there is still some grey patina to it with extensive traces of old surface rust. The overall length is 36cms. The point is now squared off as a result of damage.

militaria item Coastal Artillery cap with SS badges
- German
This dangerous fake would deceive many collectors. The cap is a genuine Coastal Artillery item; the soutache and the badges have all been added to 'create' a more interesting commercial prospect! The skull badge is certainly bogus and the eagle is not totally convincing, but might still be OK.

militaria item First Panzer Army dog tag
- German
This is aluminium dog tag is probably for the training battalion of the unit and is marked 'Neu' (=new) to indicate a replacement item. The First Panzer Army were famous for having got the furthest East (to the edge of Grozny in modern Chechenya) of any German units in WW2. 'O' indicates the blood group.

militaria item Silver plaque of Count Tisza
- Hungarian
This hallmarked silver plaque is cast in relief with the head of Count Stepan Tisza, Prime Minister of Hungary in 1914, assassinated in 1918 by the Bolsheviks in their short-lived rising in Hungary. Also cast in relief are: his name and title in Hungarian, the date 1907 (top left), and the sculptor's monogram FBO, or a combination of these (right).

militaria item Paratroop gravity knife
The left-hand knife in the top and bottom photos (with the darker grip) is a real original. The right-hand example, as well as the two centre photos, are of a modern copy, almost certainly made in Pakistan. NB: the marlin spike has an RB number identical to the original and a Luftwaffe acceptance stamp as well.

militaria item Waffen SS helmet, double decal
- German
THIS FAKE IS ON THE WEBSITE AS A WARNING! It is not in my possession as the client on whose behalf I was selling it returned it to his source. The shell and the party decal are OK, together with the bulk of the paintwork, but the SS decal has been added much later, perhaps only ten years ago, possibly to replace a damaged police decal.

militaria item Leather holster for Smith & Wesson revolver
- American
Highway patrolman's holster for short-barrelled revolver, reverse marked with 'Richmond VA' (VA = Virginia). Complete with six dummy rounds in .38 special (primers have been detonated).

testimonials

Cane arrived this morning, well packaged, and I am delighted with it.

P L, Northern Ireland, 22.02.2011

Hanger arrived safe and sound 11.30ish today. Very pleased, it's as expected. Your excellent pics make all the difference in terms of confident buying over the net. As a matter of interest, the frog, which as you said is very a/f, is, as you thought, 'spot on'. On closer inspection it is a mk.1 Naval Frog, designated 'for cutlasses'. Date seems around 1860ish give or take.

By the way, I think your site is very user friendly. Seems to work much better than many and up to date, a rarity!!!
