Nationality British
Period c 1869-78

This chin chain is for the shako that immediately preceded the introduction of the Home Service helmet. It is in white metal, which indicates volunteer infantry regiment status. Its condiiton is nice and clean, with some tarnishing to the silver finish. All the velvet lining is in place and the stitching is intact.

I received the sword and belt this afternoon. Always a bit of a risk buying this sort of thing online but I'm very pleased with the quality of the sword and scabbard...

The pommel arrived safely today... It's a nice little object and really quite tactile... As usual, it was a pleasure to do business with you and I look forward to finding something else in your stock to tempt me.
