Struck in bronze with a Latin logo ('Sapientiae Studii Viennensis') surrounding an image of a queen in a Renaissance window. The reverse has the logo 'Zur // Erinnerung // An das // Kriegsjahr // 1914', all above a laurel wreath.
It measures 3.6cm across and is in GVF condition. This is the tail end of a collection I bought back in 1997, put together by a Belgian doctor, who, after WW1, worked all over central Europe with the war wounded. He collected a vast quantity of commemorative material, of which this is an example, given to him mostly by his grateful patients.
