Title Royal Indian Marine officer's belt buckle
Nationality British Empire
Period c 1901-48
Sold

This is the buckle for the sword belt of the officers in the dying days of the British Empire. The Indian Navy grew from the fleet of the old East India Company, who had armed merchantmen protecting their trade in the East. It has a fine gilt finish on a brass base.

Its condition is excellent, although one of the keepers appears to have lost some of its gilding.

testimonials

I received the item today, you had packed it well and there were no problems with customs. Overall I was happy with it although the blade was a little bit worse than I had imagined, however thank you for your efforts.
