This is the classic final pattern of Luftwaffe waist clasp, in die-struck steel with blue leather tag marked Noell & Hueck, Ludenscheid, dated 1940. It would have been worn on a black leather combat belt by flight crew, flak gunners, paratroops and, finally, in the closing stage of the war, Luftwaffe ground troops.
It retains much of the original blue paint finish on the reverse and only traces to the face. The reverse is also struck 'N&H 1940', which confirms the details on the tag (these being a bit faint).
