Field made helmet cover with insignia of Lancashire Fusiliers in embroidered wool (taken from a shoulder strap) sewn onto the side. Complete with original drawstring. Aged with heavy dust impregnation, but generally sound. Should improve with a light handwash.

Some of these illustrations clearly show various regimental insignia stitched to the side of the cover, as on this example.
