Title Grand Hotel Brighton gilt bronze button
Nationality British
Period c 1900
Price £15.00

This is a livery button for the hotel in question, probably worn on a doorman's uniform. It is made by Firmin & Sons Ltd - Firmin became a limited company in 1875 and continues in business to this day. From the style of the piece and the quality of the gilding, it bears all the marks of an earlier rather than later production.

Its condition is excellent, with all its original gilding in place. It is a two-piece button with a gilt face plate folded over a brass back plate.

Thanks very much for the bayonet. I am very happy, I think your photos of your items are great because nothing is hidden and you can clearly see them. (Unlike some other dealers.) Everything was as you describe, I will be keeping a eye on your site for any further bayonets for my collection.
