Title 4th Foot (the King's Own Royal Regiment) officer's waist belt clasp
Nationality British
Period c 1855-81
Sold

These buckles were introduced in 1855 and were worn until the abolition of the regimental numbering system in 1881 when county titles replaced the numbers. It is on its original white patent leather belt, with sword slings, as worn by all infantry officers.

The belt is somewhat distressed and the buckle has been broken at some point and silver soldered on one of the floral supports (left hand corner as you wear it, right hand as you look at it). However, this has been neatly done and the repair and condition is reflected in the price for what is quite a rare regimental example.

The day the blunderbuss arrives I could not stop looking and feeling the gun for at least one hour. My wife told me that I was sick........ I am very happy, it is a piece of craftsmanship! Well made! I have 5 blunderbusses but all iron barrel, also from England but this one is gorgeous with the Brass Barrel.

Please keep me informed when you have any other type of blunderbuss. Thanks my friend!

Just a short note to let you know that I have collected the Police fur cap this morning from the Post Office. I am really happy with it, and for sure I will give a thumbs-up to your service. This was the first item I ever bought from you, and I hope it will not be the last.
