Title Yorkshire Militia (?) officer's crossbelt pouch badge
Nationality British
Period c 1890s
Price £140.00

This die-struck badge is almost certainly of the York Militia (Rose of York and a blank plinth for a potential battle honour). The other possibility is Hampshire Militia, who also used the rose as a unit emblem. The badge may well be unhallmarked silver or heavy duty EPNS. As yet untested for either.

There is a small split to the backing plate at the neck and one of the nuts is missing. It measures 2.75" across.

I received the silver Verdienstkreuz this morning. Your swiftness and dedication was very much appreciated and, though the envelope arrived with a Post Office sticker saying it had been found open or damaged, the cross was unharmed and looks beautiful. Thanks for your time.
