This leather holster is double stamped with the maker's mark 'T.THOMASSON & CO / 1917'. Dated examples are now getting harder to find. This is the classic holster carried by officers, NCOs and machine gun crews in the Great War by British and Commonwealth troops, specifically designed for the Mark VI Webley revolver (.455 calibre).
It is in excellent shape, except for some minor moth scarring on the face of the flap and on the body. The stitching is in good shape throughout and there is no appreciable shrinkage.
