This is the standard War Medal issued by the government to anyone who had served overseas in WW2. Normally, it would have been issued in conjunction with the various campaign starts associated with that war, viz Italy, Burma, etc. It has the remains of its original wax paper wrapping. Alas, there is no ribbon.
This is one of a batch I bought which had been stored in damp conditions, resulting in some patination damage to the surface of both sides. This could possibly be polished out.
