These are the little buttons that go on the shoulder and secure the epaulette to the full dress tunic. The RAMC was established in 1873 as the Army Medical Staff (successor to the Army Hospital Corps) and then, by Royal Warrant of 1898, received the title Royal as Royal Army Medical Corps. They are nicely gilt, have no maker marks and have screw thread posts to the reverse. |
