Title Victorian Royal Army Medical Corps epaulette buttons
Nationality British
Period c 1898-1901
Sold

These are the little buttons that go on the shoulder and secure the epaulette to the full dress tunic. The RAMC was established in 1873 as the Army Medical Staff (successor to the Army Hospital Corps) and then, by Royal Warrant of 1898, received the title Royal as Royal Army Medical Corps.

They are nicely gilt, have no maker marks and have screw thread posts to the reverse.

Having had time to have a relax and a good look at the brooch, am very pleased with it, many thanks for sending it on promptly and safely. Will keep an eye on the site.

I received the silver Verdienstkreuz this morning. Your swiftness and dedication was very much appreciated and, though the envelope arrived with a Post Office sticker saying it had been found open or damaged, the cross was unharmed and looks beautiful. Thanks for your time.
