Made by Horster of Solingen, this is a classic export number of the period. Interestingly, the maker's details appear both in German and Arabic script at the forte of the blade, along with a religious exhortation in a small panel in the middle of the blade. The scabbard is iron, as is the hilt, and both have much of their original finish.
