Title Three-way powder flask by Sykes of Sheffield
Nationality British
Period c 1820-40
Sold

This was made for a small pocket pistol or perhaps a pepperpot revolver, the charge being no more than 10 grains of powder. It is marked 'SYKES' on its body and maintains much of the original brown finish to the copper and some of the original lacquer to the brasswork. The calibre of the ball compartment would have been approximately .40 inch.

It measures 3.25 inches approximately.

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)
