Title Royal Flying Corps manual, 'Technical Notes, R.F.C.'
Nationality British
Period 1916
Sold

This manual, published in 1916 and in superb shape, has all its pages complete, detailing 13 aeroplanes and 11 engines, with pull-out diagrams for each plane. 'H.C. Macintosh R.F.C. / No. 11 squad.' is inscribed in pencil on the flyleaf - 11 Squadron was formed at Netheravon in Feb. 1915 and served for the rest of the war in France and Flanders.

The owner extensively inked in his own notes on the planes which he had personally serviced. Material of this sort is rare as it didn't last or was thrown away.

There is some loosening to the binding throughout the spine with some minor loosening at various points. But generally it is in excellent condition for its age. (I have lightened the photos to render them easier to read; the true colour is an off-white.) It is, in essence, a hard card binding, somewhat compressed through use over the years.
