Title Rifle powder flask
Nationality British
Period c 1860
Sold

Marked 'G.&J.W.HAWKSLEY, SHEFFIELD'. This flask would typically have been used with .451 Whitworth rifle or a Westley Richards monkeytail rifle. There are three settings for one dram, one-and-a-quarter drams, and one-and-a-half drams.

Nice example with much original finish and some medium rusting to small area of spring; copper body with brass fittings. Some original lacquer, both to head and body.

My Arisaka arrived at 9.00am. Very prompt delivery and excellent packaging! The blade is superb.. and just what I was after, its in very fine condition and just as you described.. I've referenced it in my copy of Raymond La Bar's book "Bayonets of Japan".

Many thanks, Chris, once again its been a pleasure doing business!

Found the item a little on the expensive side and a bit disappointed that you were unwilling to bend a bit on the price of the Officer's Tunic Eagle (half the fun of buying, after all, is the haggling), but impressed by the speed of delivery and the quality of the item. Was well worth it in the long run...
