Title Rhineland hussar regiment veteran's badge
Nationality German
Period 1926
Price £40.00

This rather splendid veteran's badge has its original paper retailer's label on the back in black and gold. The logo around the edge translated means the first regimental roll call of the former hussar regiment King William I, Bonn-on-the-Rhine.

Under the crown, the date on the ribbon says 12:14 on one side and 6.1926 on the other. At the bottom is the coat of arms of Bonn-on-the-Rhine.

It is a die-struck badge with an EPNS finish, probably on base metal of some sort. It could, however, just possibly be thin die-struck silver. In any case, I am reluctant to test it because of its fragility.

It is in good condition and, unlike the Austrian regimental badges, which survived in some quantity, you rarely see German ones nowadays.

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)
