This sabre has a leather grip and iron guard marked '4.AF.2.4', medium dark patinated. The blade is dated 1905 and the edge has evidently been ground on a grindstone for field service. The scabbard has been polished (probably wire mopped) and has scattered medium pitting throughout the surface. A reasonable example of its type. |
