Title Paratroop gravity knife
Nationality German
Period 1944
Sold

A somewhat battered example of the take-down version of this knife. One grip would appear to be walnut, the other one beechwood, but both original. The marlin spike is marked with the RB number '0/0561/0019', which firmly dates the piece to 1944, or just possibly 1945. The blade is marked Anton Wingen.

It has had a careful armourer's repair to the broken spring on the lock, a fairly common occurrence with these knives, but, more importantly, 1 cm of the blade has been shortened due to use/abuse, but this has also been done by a professional armourer.

testimonials

the Bayonet is superb and exactly as described if not better.

Your customer service is excellent, and will recommend you to others.

Hanger arrived safe and sound 11.30ish today. Very pleased, it's as expected. Your excellent pics make all the difference in terms of confident buying over the net. As a matter of interest, the frog, which as you said is very a/f, is, as you thought, 'spot on'. On closer inspection it is a mk.1 Naval Frog, designated 'for cutlasses'. Date seems around 1860ish give or take.

By the way, I think your site is very user friendly. Seems to work much better than many and up to date, a rarity!!!
