Title Pair of Royal Flying Corps shoulder flashes
Nationality British
Period c 1914-17
Sold

These were introduced by Army Order 378 of November 1913 for NCOs and ORs, normally worn stitched to the shoulder of the wrapover tunic. They were discontinued in 1918 with the start of the RAF. There was a later pattern with sans serif lettering.

This pair shows minor age staining, one of them having a small moth hole. They have been cut from a tunic, complete with khaki cloth surround. At some point they have been glued to a board for display purposes.

My order arrived this morning, thanks for the prompt delivery.

Two excellent original pieces, I must say.

Buckle is in minty condition retaining so much detail esp plummage on eagle's neck and chest, like to see those 'creases' on the legs also... a beautiful example of an early O&C buckle.

Belt is very interesting, rather thin, CROUPON stamped and also behind the tongue...maybe Allegmeine but no SS markings as you state. Beautiful piece none the less.

Thanks for a speedy transaction Chris, I am very happy with my purchase :)
