Title Officer's dagger, model 1843
Nationality Swiss
Period c 1943-65?
Sold

This is the classic Swiss officer's dirk, which replaced the sword in 1943. I can remember seeing these being worn by Swiss officers in the mid-60s. It is stamped at the forte 'ELSENER//SCHWYZ//VICTORIA', with a number on the reverse '155780'.

This is a good example, complete with its original porte epee. The blade has virtually all its factory finish, with a little minor staining at the point. Most of the original paintwork remains on the scabbard and the hilt has fruitwood grips. The leather hanger is also in good condition.

Today I received your flag. It's very nice and looks genuine to me. Beautifull crisp colors! It looks barely used. It's a nice addition to my ww2 collection. I would even say, one of my top pieces.

Thanks for your excellent service and top communication!

I will check your site more often to see if you have more nice pieces.
